Mai-Sie Chan, Board Member, is a primary care physician working in Chinatown, where her practice serves a largely monolingual immigrant population. She obtained both her Bachelors and MD degree from Stanford University, then completed her residency in internal medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. She has volunteered at health screening fairs and taught citizenship classes in Chinatown. She has chaired the Continuing Medical Education committee and is currently Medical Director for Performance Improvement at Chinese Hospital.

Cary Chen is an attorney in the San Francisco office of Morrison & Foerster, where his practice focuses on general corporate and securities matters. Prior to joining Morrison and Foerster, he was Associate Corporate Counsel at United Commercial Bank. Cary received his bachelor's degree in economics from Stanford University and his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He is inspired by the dedication of the APA staff and is honored to support APA's mission to promote healthy families and prevent child abuse and domestic violence in API communities.

Eddie Y. Chin, Board Member, holds a B.A. from San Francisco State University, a Master痴 from the University of San Francisco, and a J.D. from Hastings College of Law, University of California. Eddie has been a member of the adjunct faculty at the City College of San Francisco for the past 28 years, teaching English and Citizenship classes in Chinatown to new immigrants. He served on the City College Academic Senate, helping to revise the Academic Senate痴 Constitution. He has also worked with the Dept. of Child Support Services in almost every department. Currently, he is a customer service/legal operations manager. Since 2005, Eddie has been an active member of Mayor Newsom痴 Task Force for Arts, Education and Youths, representing the Dept. of Child Support Services. He is also active in many community groups serving as the past Co-Chair of the Asian Coalition for Asian American staffs, as well as a member of SF Tomorrow, Chinese American Citizens Alliances, S.H.A.R. P., Chinese American Democratic Club, Friends of San Francisco Library, SPUR, APA Family Support Services, and many other organizations. For the past few years he has been invited to be a judge for the Coca-Cola Company in an annual outreach program in arts to finalize the selection of the winners in San Francisco.

Nicholas Chung: From 1990 to present, Nicholas Chung has worked in various capacities in the Banking Industry. He is a Vice President Team Manager of Cathay Bank痴 Northern California Corporate Lending Division. He has experience in handling all aspects of commercial lending such as International Trade Finance, Commercial Real Estate Loans, Construction Financings, Working Capital Lines of Credit and Equipment Loans. Mr. Chung has been an active member of the communities. He is currently serving as Treasurer and Chair of Finance Committee at APA. In the past, he has served as Treasurer of the Alameda Chamber of Commerce, as Secretary of the Webster Street Business Association and as a Judge for the Alameda City痴 recent 4th of July parade. He has also served as a loan committee member of Nor-Cal FDC (Northern California Small Business Financial Development Corporation). Mr. Chung was born and raised in Hong Kong. He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from San Francisco State University in 1990. He and his family currently reside in Foster City.

Rose Chung, Board Member and President, graduated from SFSU with a degree in Health Education. She is the President of the Chinese Employee Association at San Francisco General Hospital. Rose enjoys community fund-raising events and serves on APA's board as well as on the Board of Chinatown Neighborhood Center. She is elected to the Republican Central Committee. For the last fifteen years, she produces the Miss Asian Pageant and stays busy year round with community service. She says, "Rewards of community service are felt within the heart." Rose appreciates the difficulty of raising a special needs child, especially for mono-lingual and low income parents who are sometimes unable to access resources available to their child.

Van Diep is an Associate Director News Media at KTSF-TV26 in Brisbane, California. Van grew up in Saigon, Vietnam where he received twelve years of formal education. He came to the U.S. as a refugee in 1984 and completed his four year training program in Psychology at California State University of Hayward. Van has been with the KTSF since 1990. In the past, Van has directed Vietnamese talents for video production and conducted Vietnamese focus groups for service providers. He also hosted the Vietnamese Journal, a monthly talk show, for KTSF in the early 1990s. "I feel honored to be part of an organization that serves a community with great needs," says Van Diep, "I hope to make a difference in the lives of the families we serve."

Valerie H. Lee is a residential real estate developer and investor, who had been actively engaged in the business of real estate since 1997. Together with her team, she has developed and renovated many properties in San Francisco. She recently co-founded lmage Interiors LLC., the largest Viking dealership and showroom in the San Francisco Bay Area featuring an array of sophisticated designs of Viking Kitchens. Valerie received her B.A. in Economics and English from the University of California at Berkeley in 1991 and her M.B.A. from California State University of San Francisco in 1996. She is the President of Spotlight Design & Printing, and also a managing director of Landmark Capital Fund. During her reign as Miss Chinese International and thereafter, Valerie Lee has emceed numerous televised shows and contests throughout Hong Kong and China and hosted many cultural events in the San Francisco Chinese Community. Currently, she enjoys contributing to her community by serving as a board member of APA Family Support Services.

David Martz is a lawyer. David is active in his church and has a heart for low-income children and elderly people. He is a graduate of Yale Law School. He currently serves as the Board Secretary.

Michelle Natividad Rodriguez, a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law, is a Staff Attorney at Public Advocates, a non-profit law firm and legal advocacy organization committed to racial and economic justice. She focuses on impact litigation, collaborating with community-based organizations, and policy and administrative advocacy in the areas of educational equity and affordable housing. She is also a board member of the Common Council Foundation. Michelle is currently serving as Chair of our Personnel Committee.

Justin W. Shek is Vice-President of the Board. He is a General Dentist in the Laurel Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. Since his graduation from the UCSF School of Dentistry, he has maintained a faculty position as an Assistant Clinical Professor. As a native San Franciscan, he continues to give back to the community by giving presentations on oral health care, participating in dental screenings and providing dental education at health fairs. He is currently the chair of the APA Family Support Services Program Committee.

Susan Sung, Board Member, is a professor in the SFSU School of Social Work. She received her M.S.W. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley and has been teaching in California for over 30 years.

Benjamin Tsai is a Senior Software Engineer at salesforce.com in the San Francisco financial district. Benjamin completed his undergraduate studies in Computer Science, Business Administration, and Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University. He also completed his Masters studies in eBusiness Technology at Carnegie Mellon University. "It is an honor to be able to work with the dedicated staffs and volunteers of APA towards achieving the goals of healthy families and happy children."
